TSA have touched
the lives of Tamangs living in New York in one way or another. It’s
effort have culminated into a very large membership in the Society and
it has encouraged other Tamangs residing in the other parts of USA like
Boston, Washington DC, Virginia, Texas, Connecticut, Montana, Georgia,
Pennsylvania, California and even in some parts of Canada. Their
original cultural program ‘Damphu Saanjh’ organized every two years
during the time of Tamang New Year has become a well-expected event for
all the Tamangs living in the USA.
This years Damphu Saanjh was organized by Tamang Society of America
on the inevitably freezing night of 6th of February – sorry, we can’t
guarantee weather kind of dilemma. However, the venue, Dhaka Club in
Woodside, Queens was brimming to the fullest. No one announced but it
was like ‘early bird gets the best worms (in this case seats)’ kind of
situation. People were standing even to the far end of the hall. And the
best part of it was; everybody seemed to be enjoying.-- by Kiran |

Word has been spreading so rapidly around the globe, that Ram Bahadur Bomjon (Tamang) also known as Palden Dorje (Monastic-Name), and "Buddha Boy" (English media Nick-name) is born on Chaitra Purnima (Full moon) in 2046 B.S ( April 9, 1990 A.D) in tamang family at Ratanapuri village, Bara district, Nepal and is believed to be enlightened New Buddha. His mother's name reported "Maya Devi" Tamang same first name as Lord Sidhartha Gautam Buddha. Read more....

General Convention of Tamang Society of America (TSA) has taken place on
dated of April 18, 2010 at Jackson heights queens New York USA. Mr.
Bharat Tamang and Mr. Sange Lama has been nominated as President and
vice president to serve a two-year-term (2010-2012) for Tamang Society
of America. Nominated Prestigious nine board-members include Mr. Lakyan
Lama as General secretary, Mrs. Ramala (Treasurer), Mrs. Maya Lama
(secretary), continuing board members Binod tamang, Furba Tamang and
newly nominated members Mrs. Kamala Lopchan, Mrs. Sapana Lama, Karma
Lama and Lalman Lama. Two board members shall be appointed by the
President.
I am deeply honored to have been nominated to be President of Tamang
Society of America, and i will be fully dedicated to serve the
community to bring social change through education, co-ordinate with
other social organization, Said Mr. Bharat Tamang. Since he has been
serving as vice president for the last two years, he promises to try his
best with his full efforts and courage to make tamang society of
America (TSA), financially strong within his next two years service term
as President. It has been a special experience and everyone else is
welcomed to support our mission and vision of organization, he stated. |

Dispute on Buddha's Birth-place
In between Nepal and India, there has been much dispute over the years as to the exact location of the Buddha's birthplace. India often seem to be treated and claimed it as an issue of national pride. However truth is always truth, using historical records referring to Alexander the Great and Emperor Ashoka, the Buddha was born in Nepal and his birth date is usually recorded as May 563 BC. According to history, Siddhartha Gautam Buddha was born into the Shakya royal family in Lumbini in south Nepal and raised in the small kingdom or principality of Kapilvastu, both of which are in modern day Nepal.
